“Nengzhe” Specialised Community for Senior Care (Chongqing)
Design Focus: People-Centered Design Year: 2016 Project Location: Chongqing Details: Developed an innovative elderly community design concept that took into account seniors’ various needs and elements that fostered their well-being. Culminated the project into a graduation thesis and exhibition, earning the Sichuan Fine Arts Institute Academic Award for Excellent Graduation Creation/Design.

Categorised seniors into functional groups (e.g. culture, arts, agriculture, craftsmanship) and created interconnected spaces tailored to their needs;
Highlighted the importance of mental and cultural enrichment for seniors, incorporating sustainable and human-centred design principles.
Senior Arts Soho
The community is divided into two categories: calligraphy and painting, and handicrafts. The focus is on in-depth design of the handicraft area, which includes residential spaces for the elderly, medical care, support services, workshops, and spaces for showcasing artworks.

The senior living community is divided into six clusters based on the hobbies and functional needs of the elderly: Senior Recreation, Senior Arts, Landscape Gardening, Agricultural Landscape, Private Care, and Processing Industries.
